UCS Academics and Administrative Affairs Chair- Manya-Jean Gitter
This year the Academics and Administrative Affairs Committee will be working on a number or projects to enhance advising and curricular options. We are working to develop Swearer Engaged Scholars Initiative in collaboration with the Swearer Center which will tie together the curricular and extra curricular opportunities at Brown into a social justice learning four year track for entering freshman. We will pursue even more upper-lower classmen advising options by partnering with Departmental Undergraduate Groups. Through our work with administration, we hope to demystify questions students face when choosing classes, advisors, and mentors with a variety of projects. We will continue to push for student input and tenure. Overall, we plan to continue to work with many groups, alliances, and conversations on campus to analyze, evaluate, and help further improve the New Curriculum.
