Disability Support Services

Disability Support Services (DSS) coordinates and facilitates services for Students, Faculty, Staff and Visitors with physical, psychological, and learning disabilities.

Approach DSS for help with learning issues, broken legs, visual impairment, or other challenges; they can help you access all the resources you need to do well, from a ride to class to emotional support.

Brown’s Nutritionist: Heather Bell

Brown’s resident nutritionist, Heather Bell, is available for assistance in addressing barriers to healthy, normal eating and activity patterns, as well as achieving a healthy, natural body weight. Contact her at heather_bell@brown.edu.

Health Education

Health Ed facilitates interactive workshops, offers individual counseling and referrals, and coordinates special events on a wide range of health topics. Topic areas include nutrition, alcohol and other drug use, sexual assault response & prevention, safer sex, sexually transmitted infections, stress management and general wellness.

Psychological Services

In a time of crisis, high stress or when facing difficult decisions, the experienced staff at Psych Services are available to talk. Located on the fifth floor of J. Walter Wilson, Brown students can make free appointments with staff Monday – Friday by calling 401-863-3476. If you have a psychiatric emergency, crisis support is available 24 hours a day by calling 401-863-3476.
