UCS Elections

The Brown Student Government Association holds elections for UCS, UFB, and CCB simultaneously near the end of every Spring semester, and then hosts further elections for first-year positions on UCS, UFB, and CCB at the beginning of the Fall semester. Elections are overseen by the SGA Elections Chair (ethan_davis@brown.edu).

Specific rules and guidelines vary year-to-year based on the discretion of the Elections Chair, but it will follow the basic structure detailed below:

  1. Communications are sent out to students letting them know they can run for any of the positions available

  2. Prospective candidates submit signatures and other required materials

  3. The Elections Chair approves the candidacies and candidates have a set period of time to campaign

  4. Students vote in a ranked-choice format

  5. Results are announced after polls close

Feel free to check out the elected positions and their specific committee page (if it exists) under the UCS Committees tab, or reach out to their current holders directly at any time to learn more about what they do.

Also feel free to look at UFB and CCB and the elected positions available there.
